Roy Higgins Quality winner King Of Leogrance is favourite for the Group Two Adelaide Cup after the declaration of the final field of 16.
Trained by Melbourne Cup-winning trainer Danny O'Brien and racing in the colours of six-time Cup-winning owner Lloyd Williams, King Of Leogrance eased from $2.50 to $2.60 on Tuesday after drawing barrier 15 for Monday's 3200m Adelaide Cup at Morphettville.
Lightly raced Dark Alley, trained by Paul Preusker who won last year's Adelaide Cup with Surprise Baby, is second favourite at $5 and has barrier nine, while the Chris Waller-trained Dabiyr is $7 and has barrier 10.
Dabiyr was second to King Of Leogrance in Saturday's Listed Roy Higgins Quality (2600m) at Flemington.
Five-year-old gelding King Of Leogrance was penalised 1kg for his Roy Higgins win and will carry 54kg in the Adelaide Cup with Damian Lane aboard.
Last-start Launceston Cup winner Home By Midnight is topweight with 58.5kg.
King Of Leogrance will be stepping up to 3200m for the first time.
O'Brien said he believed the favourite would handle the two miles.
"He's a very clean-winded, natural staying horse," O'Brien said.
