Gr 1 Australian Cup attracts field of 14

Wednesday 4 March 2020, 11:45am

Harlem has drawn an inside barrier for his attempt at an historic third-straight Australian Cup at Flemington.

Trained by David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig, eight-year-old gelding Harlem has barrier two in a field of 14 for Saturday's 2000m weight-for-age feature and is one of four runners for the stable along with Fifty Stars (barrier 13), Cape Of Good Hope (5) and Constantinople (4).

The Danny O'Brien-trained Vow And Declare will carry the No.1 saddlecloth in his first start since his winning the Melbourne Cup last spring and the stayer, to be ridden by Craig Williams, has drawn barrier 10.

Turnbull Stakes winner Kings Will Dream has drawn the inside barrier while Zipping Classic-winning import Southern France has the outside draw for his first start since last spring.
