Trainer Kody Nestor will have two runners in the $500,000 Country Championships final after celebrating a quinella in the qualifying heat at Coonamble.
Nestor became the first person to ride and train a heat winner of the series when Sneak Preview beat Fast Talking on Sunday.
Both horses qualify for the final at Randwick on April 4.
As a jockey, Nestor won the 2015 Western Districts heat on Dane De Lago who was unplaced in the final.
"Both horses are owned by a great bunch of people in syndicates we put together ourselves," Nestor told Sky Thoroughbred Racing.
"They didn't have the easiest of runs but they were too good. We've got great staff, great owners and they let me do my job the way I want to.
"I couldn't split them before the race and I think it only came down to the runs they had. If you swap runs you probably swap the result."
Winning rider Matthew Cahill said Sneak Preview had found plenty when momentarily challenged by his stablemate.
"I never lost confidence in sneak preview," he said.
"The second horse came at me and I thought he might make interesting but my little fella found again."
