Global Quest has been scratched from the Golden Slipper at Rosehill paving the way for first emergency Rathlin to gain a start.
Trainer Chris Waller told stewards he was unable to work Global Quest on Wednesday morning.
The colt had a slight temperature on Monday and the trainer said his blood profile had not improved.
His scratching leaves Waller with one runner, Hungry Heart, and if Rathlin starts, Ciaron Maher and David Eustace will have five.
Their other runners are Prague, Away Game, Muntaseera and Cellsabeel.
Saturday's $3.5 million race for two-year-olds headlines a program of five Group One races which is scheduled to be held without spectators.
Blue Diamond Stakes winner Tagaloa is the favourite for the Slipper ahead of Hanseatic and Farnan.
