Harness racing will resume in NSW after an official returned a negative test to the coronavirus.
John Dumesny, chief executive of Harness Racing NSW, confirmed harness racing would return on Saturday after being suspended pending the results of the test on a steward.
"The test result on the harness racing NSW steward came back negative so we will be racing again from tomorrow," Dumesny told Sky Sports Radio.
"We all must be cognisant and careful of the community we live in based on the infectious nature of this disease but as far as anybody that was at Penrith last week, this connection we had to this meeting, it was a negative test."
The steward was tested after having close contact at the meeting on March 19 with another participant subsequently diagnosed with coronavirus.
Bathurst is scheduled to host a 10-race card on Saturday, highlighted by four Group One finals, while a harness program will also be held at Newcastle.
