Gai Waterhouse has lodged an appeal against a $2000 fine for failing to report on the fitness of More Joyous before she ran in the Queen of the Turf Stakes.
Racing NSW chief steward Ray Murrihy confirmed on Thursday that Waterhouse had appealed the penalty but said no date for a hearing had been set.
Waterhouse already has a case under appeal after being fined $5000 for not reporting on the condition and treatment of the mare before she finished second last in the All Aged Stakes on April 27.
That failure led to a public spat with owner John Singleton who subsequently sacked Waterhouse as his trainer.
Murrihy said the two matters were likely to be heard at the same time.
At a hearing on Tuesday, Waterhouse indicated she would be pushing for an overhaul of the rule which requires trainers to report health issues with horses.
More Joyous had slight lameness a week before the Queen of the Turf but Waterhouse was adamant she recovered in time to run.
The top trainer said she would never place her horses at risk by running them when they weren't fit.
The mare started an odds-on favourite in the Queen of the Turf and finished a luckless fifth.
