Central Queensland apprentice Elyce Smith has joined an elite band of jockeys by riding six winners at the Emerald meeting in Queensland.
Smith, who is apprenticed to her father Fred in Rockhampton, won on Summer Lea ($1.55), Fidereus ($4.40), Addicted ($1.60), Burden ($4.60), Fastnet Flyer ($4.60) and Mono Lad ($2.50) on Saturday.
Her other two rides finished second and last.
The 22-year-old is studying to be a school teacher and is likely to retire from riding next year.
She has ridden 56 winners this season to be ninth on the senior Queensland jockeys premiership.
Jeff Lloyd holds the record for most wins at a Queensland metropolitan meeting when he rode seven winners at the Sunshine Coast in November 2016.
Noel Thompson at Cunnamulla and Bill Thomas at Townsville have also ridden seven winners at Queensland meetings.
Only five other jockeys are recorded as having ridden six winners at Queensland meetings - Mick Dittman, Michael Rodd, Larry Allen, Fred Kay and J Hayden.
In another unusual statistic, female jockeys won all 15 combined races at Queensland's Emerald and Charleville meetings on Saturday.
