Son of Sire of Sires, STORM CAT, El Nino had another flurry of winners last week in the USA, with 3 runners for 3 winners over 3 days!
Indy El Nino , filly out of Ghostly Gate, achieved back to back, all the way, wins at Fairmount Park - her fourth win in five starts, to claim the 1600m Allowance Handicap by a dominant 8 ¾ length win. She loves to show her opponents a clean pair of heals, previously scoring there by 19 ¾ lengths.
Ziva Cat won the1100m Indiana Downs Claiming, for her second career win, after running wide before clearing the field and winning strongly. She previously broke her maiden with an all the way win over 1200m at Hoosier Park by 2 ½ lengths. Another filly, De Jorge flew the flag for her sire with her 3rd win in Venezuela, winning at La Rinconada over 1100m.
Their successes adds to his other recent progeny triumphs – Earlier this month, London Gold, led all the way to win by 8 ½ lengths over 1200m in an Indiana Downs Special Weight Maiden Aziforcast won her second race from 5 starts by 4 ½ lengths at Indiana Downs over 1200m. Surprize Me broke his Maiden, in his fourth career race, over 1100m on turf at Colonial Downs, and Indy El Nino and Maengsan Horangi notched up their fifth career wins at Fairmount , and Seoul respectively.
With 19 winners from 29 runners, and his winning strike rate over 65%, EL NINO represents great value for this season, and Merlo Downs Studmaster, Jeff, is willing to negotiate his fee for Metropolitan/Stakes mares to give the young sire every chance as he enters his third stud season in Australia.
