Godolphin's forgotten man Ahmed Ajtebi secured his first winner of the season aboard the unbeaten Zibelina in the Listed Valiant Stakes at Ascot.
The former camel rider has enjoyed particular success on Sheikh Mohammed's horses in his native Dubai during the World Cup meeting but was still used regularly by the now disgraced Mahmood Al Zarooni in Britain.
Zibelina will henceforth be registered in the care of Charlie Appleby, who has just been approved by the British Horseracing Authority to take over Al Zarooni's Moulton Paddock stable in Newmarket, and the three-year-old filly must count as a bright prospect for the team.
A 14-1 chance on the back of an effortless victory in a Newcastle maiden, Zibelina justified her entry in terrific fashion as she refused to be dislodged from the front of the field and held off the far more experienced 5-2 favourite Ultrasonic by a length and a half.
"I came here for two or three weeks at the start of the season and then I went back to Dubai," said Ajtebi.
"I came back about 12 days ago and Godolphin have given me some good rides so I hope I can keep going."
