Missy Longstocking will resume trackwork on Monday with the Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes on the wish list of trainer Liam Birchley.
Missy Longstocking has completed a seven week spell after winning the Hampden Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on June 8 which was her second win at Listed level during the winter carnival after the Lancaster Stakes at Doomben in May.
Birchley said the filly was likely to resume racing in Melbourne in mid to late September and would be aimed at the Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on November 2 if her lead-up form was good enough.
Missy Longstocking's stablemate Emmalene has undergone another bone chip operation and will be aimed at the Magic Millions Sprint (1000m) at the Gold Coast in January.
Birchley won this year's Sprint with Shamrock Slipper who started a $31 outsider.
Meanwhile, two of Michael Nolan's best two-year-olds, Sister Magic and Sir Luminar, are back in work after undergoing throat operations to correct breathing problems.
Sister Magic won a 600-metre Dalby barrier trial on July 16 and is further advanced in her preparation than Sir Luminar who only returned to Nolan's stables three weeks ago.
Nolan plans to run Sister Magic in another Dalby barrier trial on Tuesday before she returns to racing at Doomben on August 7.
"She's going to run in an 1110 metre QTIS three-year-old race at Doomben which looks a good starting point for her," Nolan said.
The daughter of Hidden Dragon won her first two starts at Eagle Farm late last year and was being prepared for the winter carnival when she developed breathing difficulties.
"Skye Bogenhuber rides her in all her work and she came off the track one morning said Sister Magic was making a noise so we scoped her and that's when we discovered she needed a wind op," Nolan said.
Similarly, Sir Luminar required a throat operation after finishing a creditable sixth to Real Surreal in the Magic Millions Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast in January.
The gelding won the Phelan Ready Stakes at Listed level at his first start in December in a performance which earned rave reviews from jockey Chris Munce.
Nolan wants to assess the early campaign performances of Sister Magic and Sir Luminar before naming any firm racing targets.
