Former Hong Kong-trained 12-year-old Fighting Heart is set for his first start in seven years at Ipswich on Wednesday.
Fighting Heart hasn't run since being unplaced in Hong Kong on June 16, 2013.
He is now with Ipswich trainer Kathleen Gruenefeld, who has nursed him through a few setbacks.
In Queensland any horse older than 10 needs approval from stewards and a veterinary inspection before it can run.
Queensland Racing Integrity Commission boss Ross Barnett said Fighting Heart recently had a jump out and performed to the satisfaction of stewards.
"QRIC veterinarians examined the horse before and after the jump-out and there were no abnormalities detected," Barnett said.
"Fighting Heart will undergo a further examination before the scheduled race on Wednesday."
Fighting Heart has been given 63kgs in the Benchmark 70 race at Ipswich.
