Trainer Darren Bell will start with a clean canvas when Falino resumes at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
Bell has removed blinkers, a lugging bit and tongue tie from Falino who will be ridden by Jim Byrne in the Uniform Management Services Handicap (1000m).
The gelding hasn't raced since July last year when he finished second last in the Tatt's Mile on a slow track.
"He had a throat operation after his last run but his work's been terrific," Bell said.
"In training he doesn't have a tongue tie and his breathing is right so, at this stage, I'd say the operation looks like it's been a success.
"If we feel that he needs any of that gear back on then we'll put it on."
Bell has given Falino a jump-out and a barrier trial at Deagon on July 30 and he is happy with his progress this campaign.
"It's probably going to be a bit sharp for him on Saturday but he's going terrific," he said.
"In his trial he had plenty in reserve and he was very strong at the finish, although he wasn't out there to do a lot.
"The main thing was he pulled up well, was breathing good, and I'm happy with him since."
Bell expects Adebisi and All That to duel for the lead and is hoping they set up a fast pace to suit Falino's pattern of racing.
"Adebisi and All That are short-course specialists and might keep running, but if they go hard early we'll be finishing over the top of them hopefully," he said.
Falino started his career with Chris Waller before being transferred to Jeff Caught, who retains a share in the gelding.
Under the care of Caught, Falino won three of his first four starts and in his second racing campaign he claimed the 2011 Group Three BTC Classic, defeating Spirit Of Boom and Skilled.
Desleigh Forster has elected to start Adebisi at Eagle Farm after toying with the idea of a Missile Stakes start at Randwick for the gelding.
