She's Four Moves Ahead of her rivals

Saturday 2 January 2021, 2:39pm

John Sargent's two-year-old filly Four Moves Ahead

stamped herself as an exciting autumn prospect with a hollow victory at her debut.

Four Moves Ahead settled wide in the run but had little trouble running away from her rivals to win the 1150m two-year-old event at Randwick Kensington.

The style of the win didn't surprise Sargent who has a big opinion of her.

A half-sister to Group Three winner Emeralds, Four Moves Ahead ($2.70F) let down impressively for Tommy Berry to beat Ruby

Kisses ($17) by 2 3/4 lengths with Morioka ($18) a further 1/2 length back third.

The Group Three Widden Stakes at Randwick now awaits in four week's time for the Snitzel filly.

"She's been a lovely filly from day one and it was good to get one away today," Sargent said.

"I was hoping to get cover but that didn't work out. But we got a clear run and she's got a

good turn of foot.

"The best attribute for her is her attitude. She's a very laid back filly just eats and sleeps and

is probably the perfect racehorse."

Sargent, who hails from New Zealand, had trained a few nice youngsters across the ditch

but believes Four Moves Ahead is up there with the best two-year-olds he has trained.

"I hold her in high regard. I had a couple of champion two-year-olds in New Zealand and it's

obviously up a class here, but she's going the right way now," Sargent said.

"I know it was wet today and the breed likes it and so does her half-sister, but I think on top

of the ground she won't mind that either."

Sargent is now building up a nice string of two-year-olds with his Bull Point colt Readily

Availabull already taking out the Ballarat Clockwise Classic in late November.
