Into The Red is on a Group One mission after his runaway win at Eagle Farm on Wednesday.
Trainer Kelso Wood wasted no time in announcing Into The Red would join his high profile stablemates Sizzling, Someday and Belltone on a spring carnival campaign in Sydney in the coming weeks.
"He showed us from day one he can gallop and I've tested him out with Sizzling in trackwork and he's always handled himself well," Wood said.
"He'll take a lot of benefit from that run."
The colt will have his next start in the Group Three Run To The Rose (1200m) at Rosehill on August 31 before his main goal, the $1 million Group One Golden Rose (1400m) at the same track a fortnight later.
Ridden by Michael Cahill, Into The Red, the $2.30 favourite, overcame a slow start to win running away by 2-1/2 lengths from Tisani Tomso ($7).
The colt was having just his second start after finishing sixth in the Group Three Champagne Classic at Eagle Farm in May.
"When he raced that day the rain came and he got bogged down and still ran a really respectable race," Wood said.
"He pulled up very shin sore afterwards so we had to turn him out."
Wood said Sizzling would resume in the Show County Quality (1200m) at Warwick Farm on Saturday week.
"He's going great and I've got Someday and Belltone all on similar paths so they'll probably have to run in the same races," he said.
Cahill said Into The Red was a worthy contender for black type races in Sydney.
"He's definitely got the potential with his ability to quicken and he put paid to them easily today," he said.
"He probably wasn't the best out but he mustered speed pretty quickly to take up a good spot."
In a tragic sequel to the race, Sister Magic collapsed and died from a suspected heart attack as she was being led from the enclosure back to the raceday stalls.
Sister Magic, a sister to dual Weetwood Handicap winner Miss Imagica, went into Wednesday's race undefeated after two starts and was resuming from a spell following a throat operation.
