Group One winner Zabeelionaire will not be seen this spring.
Trainer Leon Corstens said connections had elected to spell last year's South Australian Derby winner, who also finished sixth in the 2012 Caulfield Cup.
Zabeelionaire hasn't won since his SA Derby success 16 months ago and was last seen in an unsuccessful two-start Queensland winter campaign thwarted by rain.
"We've elected to turn him out thinking all we are going to get is wet tracks and then (last) Saturday turns out to be a good three," Corstens said.
"But what can you do?"
Corstens said he would look to the autumn with the son of Zabeel.
"We just got sick and tired of waiting for tracks to dry out," Corstens said.
While Corstens ruled out a spring campaign for Zabeelionare, Group One-winning stablemate Commanding Jewel is set to kick off her campaign at Moonee Valley on Saturday in the Listed Carlyon Stakes.
Zabeelionaire is a full brother to Queensland Oaks winner Gondokoro who is trained by Pat Carey.
Their dam, Kisumu, was euthanised earlier this year.
Her owner Trevor Delroy sent the mare to Zabeel each year of her breeding career, selling her colts and retaining her fillies.
Her last foal is a filly born in October last year.
