Jockey Tim Bell's ambition to crack the big time in Australian racing could be reignited with a favourable result in the Hawkesbury Gold Cup.

A well-travelled jockey, Queensland-based Bell will make his second NSW visit in a week when he rides Loaded in the $150,000 Group Three race on Thursday.

"If Loaded was to do well at Hawkesbury, it could start the ball rolling for me," Bell said.

Bell started his career as an apprentice with leading NSW country trainer Sue Grills before moving to Brisbane to ride for Patinack Farm.

He spent some of last season riding in Victoria but is now back in Queensland where he has designs on premiership success.

"I'm happy staying in Queensland for the moment and making these short little visits but in the future I will be looking for bigger goals to achieve," Bell said.

Successful at his past three starts, Loaded will take the best winning streak into a race which has been brought forward in the racing season.

Since resuming racing in May, the six-year-old has answered every challenge asked from Gosford trainer Grant Allard.

So much so, Loaded will go into the Cup as a last-start Listed race winner in Brisbane.

The Cup, run over 1600m and now programmed as a lead-in to the Wyong Gold Cup and Newcastle Gold Cup, has attracted 10 acceptors.

Although nominated for the Warwick Stakes, Mic Mac is expected to run at Hawkesbury and the veteran sprinter-miler is the $4.20 favourite in early markets.

The eight-year-old, who chased home Rain Affair in the Missile Stakes at his most recent start, shades Coup Ay Tee and Kinnersley for favouritism.

Mic Mac will be racing over the mile distance for the first time since he was runner-up to Whobegotyou in the 2009 Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes.
