Conlan-trained pair to gallop at Valley

Thursday 22 August 2013, 5:45pm

Trainer Jim Conlan will work out a comeback race for the talented Rekindled Interest after he takes part in an exhibition gallop with Group One-winning stablemate Ferlax at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

The pair will work together after the opening race.

Conlan says the gallop will give him a better guide on where to head with Rekindled Interest who has not raced since last year's Cox Plate.

"This will be the most significant work he's done this preparation," Conlan said of Rekindled Interest.

Australian Guineas winner Ferlax has already been seen this season, pleasing his trainer with a closing seventh in the Aurie's Star Handicap first-up.

He will run next in Saturday week's Group One Memsie Stakes (1400m) with Stephen Baster to ride.
