Michelle Payne is back on her favourite horse Yosei on Saturday when the pair team up to tackle a Group Three sprint at Caulfield.
Payne has ridden Yosei in 27 of her 37 starts, including her three Group One wins going back to 2010, and is looking forward to riding her again after the mare's latest break from racing.
Payne was on board during a jump-out at Sandown on Tuesday and said the Stuart Webb-trained six-year-old enjoyed a solid hit-out.
"It was a nice quick time and she ran through the line well," Payne said.
"The best thing about her is that she seems to come back from every preparation and do well.
"She's in great condition and I'm looking forward to seeing how she goes this prep."
Payne believes trainer Stuart Webb will follow the same spring campaign as 2012 taking in the Toorak Handicap, in which she she ran third last year, as well as the Myer Classic and the Emirates Stakes - all over 1600 metres.
Payne became the first woman jockey to win the Group One Sires' Produce Stakes at Randwick in April 2010 on Yosei.
"She's really tough and just loves getting out there and working. She always gives her best when she comes out race day," Payne said.
Payne believes the 1100m Theshark.com.au Stakes on Saturday may be a bit short for Yosei although the mare finished third over 1200m in the Group One Robert Sangster in Adelaide in April.
At the age of six, retirement is probably not too far away for Yosei.
"Stuey always says she'll tell us when she's had enough," Payne said.
"At this stage she's still loving getting out there and working and she seems to have come back really well."
