Moreira posts perfect score in Singapore

Saturday 7 September 2013, 12:48pm

Jockey Joao Moreira etched his name in the Singapore horse racing history books when he rode eight winners from as many rides at Kranji on Friday night.

An already memorable night reached immortal proportions for Moreira when he partnered the John O'Hara-trained Faretti to win the last race.

"What's better than a dream come true? I think this is it," Moreira told the Singapore Turf Club website.

"To be honest, I never dreamed of winning on all my eight rides tonight, but when I started to close in on the fifth win, I thought maybe I had a chance as I still had good chances."

Moreira has ridden with success in Australia with fly-in, fly-out visits.

The Brazilian ace is due to make his next visit when he rides at the two-day Newcastle Gold Cup carnival on September 18 and 19.
