Aussies Love Sport undergoes vet exam

Friday 13 September 2013, 5:43pm

Golden Rose contender Aussies Love Sport has been provisionally passed fit to run on Saturday after an examination of an old wound on a hind leg.

Racing NSW senior vet Dr Craig Suann examined the Gai Waterhouse-trained colt on Friday afternoon.

He paid particular attention to an old healing wound to the inside of the off side gaskin.

Suann reported Aussies Love Sport was sound when trotted up and the colt will be re-examined by the stable veterinarian in the morning before he runs in the Group One race.

Meanwhile, stewards have given permission for Michael Cahill to ride Someday at 53.5kg if necessary, 0.5kg over the Kelso Wood-trained gelding's declared weight in the Group Two Sebring Sprint.
