Hawkspur among Waller team for George Main

Wednesday 18 September 2013, 11:20am

Dual acceptor Hawkspur is one of nine horses paid up for the Group One George Main Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

One of four Chris Waller-trained gallopers in the weight-for-age mile race, Hawkspur is also entered for the Hill Stakes.

Hawkspur has drawn barrier two in the George Main.

Stablemate and 2012 George Main winner Shoot Out has gate seven.

Last season's Queensland Derby winner, Hawkspur burst into reckoning for the spring Cups with an impressive Chelmsford Stakes win at his most recent start.

Dissident, the only three-year-old in the race, has accepted to back up from his Golden Rose placing.

Waller's other George Main acceptors are Sacred Falls and Royal Descent.
