A Sydney campaign is on the agenda for Londehero if he performs up to trainer Matthew Dunn's expectations at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
Londehero has drawn awkwardly in barrier 11 in Saturday's Canadian Club Handicap (1200m) against 12 rivals with Glen Colless aboard, but Dunn remains upbeat about his prospects.
"He's raced well from wide gates last prep and Glen knows the horse backwards so I'm sure he'll come up with a decent game plan," he said.
"The horse is really well and he should run a good race."
Dunn is looking at the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on October 19 as an option for Londehero if his lead-up form is strong enough.
"The plan is to run him on Saturday then there's another race here a fortnight later then two weeks after that is the Crowley," Dunn said.
Dunn has played a waiting game with Londehero after scrapping plans for an early spring campaign with the gelding.
"When he went out he had a couple of little hoof problems that needed time to heal," he said.
"He was going to the Sires' during the winter but ended up with a strange hole in his hoof and then he got a bit sick so we pulled the pin."
While the extended time Londehero spent in the paddock put paid to Dunn's original plans for an early spring campaign, he is delighted with the three-year-old's appearance.
"He had a jump-out last week at Doomben that he won by five or six lengths and I'm glad we gave him the extra time off because he's grown and thickened and looks really good now," he said.
Dunn believes Amalfi Dreams can improve on her sixth to Jacquetta at Eagle Farm on September 7 when she lines up in the Kirks Handicap (1300m).
"She reared as the gates opened the other day which pretty much ruined her chances," he said.
"Drawing gate one this Saturday means she's going to have to stand in there a bit longer which might be a bit tricky but she wears a blanket so that should help."
