Spring carnival hopefuls set to touch down

More foreign horses will land in Melbourne on Saturday for the spring racing carnival.

Cox Plate hopefuls Side Glance and Mull of Killough along with Melbourne Cup chance Simenon are among eight internationally trained horse who will arrive on Saturday.

Marco Botti's Australian-owned stayer Dandino, the Group One American St Leger winner, will also arrive on Saturday to continue his preparation for the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup.

Their arrival follows that of Hong Kong's five-time Group One winner Lucky Nine on Tuesday.

Lucky Nine will run in the Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on October 25 and the Patinack Farm Classic (1200m) at Flemington on November 9.

The next contingent of international horses, including Dunaden, French mare Verema and Brown Panther, owned by soccer great Michael Owen, will arrive on October 19.
