Just six weeks into his new job, foreman Bryce Heys has celebrated a win for his boss Tim Martin with the filly All That I Am.
The three-year-old was an outsider in Wednesday's Australian Turf Club Handicap (1150m) at Kensington, but a strict training regime helped her score her first city victory.
Heys was at Randwick to represent the Martin stable which wasn't overly surprised by the result despite her starting price of $31.
"There's been no denying her ability, but she can get a little bit above herself," he said.
"We got her into a strict routine and it's one that she's appreciated."
Heys said the filly eats, swims and gallops every day at the same time, which seems to have had a calming effect on her and helped her rediscover winning form.
Before Wednesday's race, All That I Am had just one win at Canberra from four starts and had not raced since September 3 but Heys said the stable used a barrier trial to take "the edge off her a bit".
Heys, who recently joined Martin from John O'Shea's stables where he worked for six years, says All That I Am's progress has been steady.
"She's done particularly well. She's a quality filly," he said.
