On The Track

Terra Amata’s win on Sunday in Hobart was a ripper and she should have a good summer in Tasmania.  I’m excited about our team down in the Apple Isle.  She capped off a good week for us and with plenty of runners coming in the next month I expect some nice results.

The weather is a bit frustrating with wet tracks in Victoria where I need dry ones and dry tracks in NSW where I need wet ones. 

Our runners over the next few days are Sweet Talkin Woman at Rosehill on Saturday and Sanosuke at Sale on Sunday in a $100,000 three year old race and Hot To Trot in Launceston on Wednesday.

160 Winners

I had a client ask me a couple of weeks how many winners we had syndicated.  To be honest I didn’t have a clue.  After going through our records which was a big job I found 160 individual winners with Sanosuke being the 160^th winner last Monday.  I’ve cross checked these figures and I am certain they are correct.

In total these horses have won 574 races with our first winner being Cautious Lover on 4 February 1999.  Our most expensive purchases were Bedi, Fromage and Full Bloom at $100,000 and the cheapest was Sandasta at $7,500.  The average purchase price of the horses was about $40,000 which hasn’t really changed much over the years.  We kept the average down by syndicating quite a few yearlings in recent years.

I hate to think how many emails, telephone calls and conversations I've had regarding our horses since we started off back in 1997.

Interestingly, I spoke with our first client who was Con Retsas from North Queensland yesterday.
