Shamus Award's Cox Plate win has added another dimension to his sire Snitzel, a Group One-winning sprinter.

Trainer Gerald Ryan prepared Snitzel for his Oakleigh Plate win and has developed an affinity with his progeny.

He will send two juveniles by Snitzel to Rosehill on Saturday - Taraneem and Time Of War - to run over 1100 metres.

While Snitzel never raced beyond the 1400 metres of the All Aged Stakes, his final race in which he finished fourth, Ryan said his sons and daughters were versatile.

"I'm not sure whether he could have run over further. We only tried it once and he didn't win," Ryan said.

"But his progeny are all different. The two I've got for Saturday will both go round and are both promising.

"I've always said the horses he produces can run over further and it's great for him to have a Cox Plate winner."

Taraneem has had one start for a fifth behind Unencumbered beaten 2-3/4 lengths and Ryan believes the filly will be better for the experience.

She is out of Cat Flap, a winner at 1100m, while debutant Time For War is bred to go further. The colt is out of an unraced Zabeel mare, Lady Zabelia.

Koroibete also represents Ryan at Rosehill on Saturday after his two-year-old season ended with a late scratching in June when he kicked out in the barrier.

He has since won a barrier trial and is ready for his return in the 1200m benchmark 75 for three-year-olds.

"We tested him in a barrier blanket in the trial and it seemed to fix the problem," Ryan said.

"We will use it again in his races."

Among Koroibete's owners are Wests Tigers' captain Robbie Farah and centre Chris Lawrence.

The gelding is named after the the pair's teammate, flying winger Marika Koroibete and he lived up to it with victory at his second start when he powered home from midfield.

Formidable, who has been entered in the 1200m race for fillies and mares, has recently been transferred to Ryan from the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra in Melbourne.
