The naming of the Gabrielle Englebrecht-trained L'Academie De Joie has been the subject of constant ribbing between the trainer and owner of the five-year-old gelding, Graham Kelly.

Somewhere a mix-up occurred in the French translation.

"It was a bit of a mistake in translating the French dialect," Englebrecht said.

"It's actually named after a French brothel. We all have a giggle about it."

Unusually named or not, L'Academie De Joie has galloping ability and lines up for back to back wins at Goulburn on Monday in the Terminus Hotel Marulan Benchmark 60 Hcp (1400m).

And if the son of Royal Academy continues to improve, Englebrecht will consider the $100,000 Goulburn Cup (1600m) on November 25.

The gelding is coming off a last start win over 1400m at Goulburn on September 4 when ridden to perfection by Kathy O'Hara.

"It was a great ride by Kathy," Englebrecht said.

"She kept him rolling along where he was comfortable.

"He's a horse that doesn't like being bustled. He's a sensitive horse. You've got to let him be."

According to Englebrecht, L'Academie De Joie has a strong personality and has been a different horse since winning last start.

"The psychology of horses is debatable but I'm sure he knows he's done something good," Englebrecht said.

"His ears have been pricked and he's been bouncing around lately.

"It's (the win) done his confidence the world of good.

"He's done awesome since winning last start. I couldn't be happier with him."

Englebrecht has fitted the gelding with a cross over nose band in recent starts and credits the gear with improving L'Academie De Joie's racing manners.

"He's settling a lot better now," she said.

"He's indicated in recent starts 1600 metres is well within his range, especially if he settles like he has lately.

O'Hara, who has a strong book of rides, again partners L'Academie Du Joie.
