It will be a rare spring in Melbourne without a runner from the Paul Perry stable, which is instead looking for results closer to home.
Perry has been a mainstay of the Melbourne carnival winning feature races with Notoire, Choisir and Fastnet Rock.
While he is unlikely to have a starter there this spring, Perry is hoping for success at Rosehill with a horse who featured for him in Melbourne 12 months ago.
Hidden Warrior won a Group Three sprint at Moonee Valley on Cox Plate day last year and contested the Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes.
On Saturday he will tackle the Lidoran Group Spring Flying (1100m) at Rosehill for which he is a $4.60 second pick.
The four-year-old's recent form has been solid, including a first-up fourth to Sessions in The Shorts.
He drops from 1400m to 1100m on Saturday and should be nearing peak fitness.
"Back to Saturday's distance should be more to his liking," Perry said.
"There should be a bit of speed on so he might relax better and be able to tuck in behind them."
Hidden Warrior spearheads Perry's team of five which also includes two-year-old Scratch Me Lucky.
The colt improved from his debut eighth in the Breeders' Plate to close strongly for second to Alpha Miss at Randwick last start.
He settled worse than midfield in both races from wide draws but Perry hopes he can position closer in the run from a kinder gate on Saturday.
Perry's other runners include Wouldnt It Be Nice who resumes in race three and has winter form behind Group performers Eurozone and Bull Point.
