The stand-alone Saturday meeting at Hawkesbury has received a boost with the addition of the club's most prestigious race.
The Hawkesbury Gold Cup has been moved from its spring timeslot and will be held alongside the Darley Crown and Hawkesbury Guineas on the first Saturday after the Sydney autumn carnival.
The move was approved by the board of the Hawkesbury Race Club this week and means the stand-alone meeting will boast three Group Three races next year.
The addition of the Gold Cup has been at the expense of the Listed Rowley Mile which will be held later in the year.
