High-profile colt Zoustar will race for his new owner on Saturday at Flemington with Widden Stud's Antony Thompson confirming the much-talked about deal to secure the colt has been finalised.
The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old is the favourite to add the Coolmore Stud Stakes to his Group One win in the Golden Rose and give Jim Cassidy his 100th elite winner.
Thompson said Zoustar would race in syndicator Sheriff Iskander's colours in the Coolmore.
Zoustar's sire Northern Meteor, winner of the 2008 Coolmore, died of colic at Widden at the end of July after securing the champion first season sire title and interest in his star colt had been intense.
"He's a horse we've been following since day one and it's been very exciting to watch his career unfold from a debut win at two to being the best three year-old sprinting colt of his generation," Thompson said.
"Northern Meteor made such a huge impact for us in the short time that we were lucky enough to have him, so it seems only right that his best son should follow in his footsteps and join us at Widden.
"We have bought a beautiful colt safe in the knowledge that he has been given an outstanding foundation to become one of the great three year-olds of the modern era."
Thompson said Waller would continue to train Zoustar with a trip to Royal Ascot in June on the wish list before the colt is retired to stand at stud in the spring.
