Questions:

1. What was the best horse you beat on the track?

I hammered High Chaparral by almost 6 lengths in l’Arc de Triomphe, I think that should put things in perspective for your readers!

2. Which of your progeny are you most excited about?

I really cannot wait to see my first Australian foals when I return next year. I expect to register a few more European bred Group 1 winners from my exceptionally bred 2YO’s and 3YO’s in the meantime.

3. What do you enjoy most about stud life?

Apart from the obvious, it is great to hear when my boys and girls have done well, that always makes my day. It was a very proud moment for me when I heard earlier this year that my son, Reliable Man, got the better of that Kiwi, It’s A Dundeel, like I did to his dad in l’ Arc de Triomphe.

4. Do you prefer Northern or Southern Hemisphere mares?

What happens in Australia, stays in Australia, so as long as the girls back home don’t find out that I’ve been cavorting with other sisters and mothers of G1 winners then I may as well let you know that I think these Aussie girls are great! I had 7 positives from my first 8 served, so they are very fertile ladies and that makes my life easier!

5. What maiden filly would you most like to cover this year?

My new mate Hussonet is always raving about some girl called Nelly, but she sounds a bit quick for me, I prefer a lady who takes her time and is best over a mile, maybe someone like More Joyous? Not quite the real thing but I do have her aunty Mary Marvel visiting me.

6. Who is your all time pin up filly?

My owner’s champion mare, Zarkava! She was just a phenomenal race filly, the best we saw in Europe for years and I was delighted when the boss called and said that I was to be the first stallion she would visit. We have a beautiful daughter together and I am looking forward to seeing her racing in the boss’s colours.

7. If you were a human what would your profession be?

I could have been a model, either as a horse or human. I am pure elegance and I just float along the ground when running or walking, I would have set the catwalk alight!
