Corey Brown is enjoying a new phase of his career in Singapore but has jumped at the chance to return to Australia to chase a second Melbourne Cup win.
Brown won the Cup on Shocking four years ago and again joins forces with trainer Mark Kavanagh who saddles up Super Cool on Tuesday.
Kavanagh called on Brown to fly in to ride Super Cool in the Cox Plate last Saturday week and again for Tuesday's Cup, something Brown didn't have to think twice about.
He rates this year's Melbourne Cup field probably the best he has seen but having already experienced the thrill of winning the most famous race in the country, he would love to do it again.
"I wish I could explain it," Brown said of the Melbourne Cup-winning feeling.
"If I could bottle it and give everyone a try, you couldn't put a price tag on it.
"It's just really, really special and nothing like this happens anywhere else in the world. It's very unique and I'm just proud to be a part of it."
Brown, who has been based in Singapore since earlier this year, expects Super Cool to run out the 3200m after riding him to fifth in the Cox Plate where he said the gelding was left a little flat footed when the pressure started to be applied.
"He's a nice horse, he's been set for the race and he didn't have to duck and weave to get into the race so he's had the perfect preparation," Brown said.
"I've got no doubt that he'll get the two miles. He feels more like a two-miler than a Cox Plate horse. Kav said that he's come on since his last run and I'm really happy to be riding him.
"Barrier 13, horse 13 and 2013 - sounds all right."
