Luke Nolen ruled out of Caulfield meeting

Saturday 16 November 2013, 1:00pm

Luke Nolen has been ruled out of the Caulfield meeting after being hurt in a mounting yard incident before the opening race on Sandown Guineas day.

Nolen was on Bullpit ahead of Saturday's Desiree Gill Tribute Stakes when the unraced two-year-old reared in the parade area and dislodged the high-profile jockey.

Medical staff carried Nolen into the jockeys' room before he was stood down from riding.

Stewards said Nolen was taken to hospital for scans on his knee with concerns he could have ligament damage.

Bullpit had to be scratched.
