She's A Girl has made amends for a lost opportunity and set herself up to join her stablemate and half-brother Malavio in the Villiers Stakes.
The mare lost a race on protest at Randwick a week earlier but on Saturday at Rosehill the result was certain when she won the 1500m benchmark 80 by 2-1/2 lengths from Akamas.
Racing at Rosehill against colts and geldings, She's A Girl was sent out at $15 with Akamas at $21 and third-placed Specific Choice the $2.50 favourite.
A race earlier, Malavio ran fourth over 1350m under 58kg, after having to cross from the second widest alley and trainer Steve Englebrecht was pleased with that effort.
"They have both gone well," Englebrecht said.
"This was a harder race for the mare and showed how well she's going.
"We'll look at the Villiers. That's where Malavio is going and who knows with this mare."
But for Englebrecht, the race that got away from She's A Girl was still a source of some pain.
"We had a big whack at her last week and only had a little bit on her today," he said.
