The Berry twins are hard to tell apart at the best of times but have proved even harder in a photo finish to the Goulburn Cup.

After a delay of several minutes following Sunday's Cup (1600m) Nathan was announced the winner on the Guy Walter-trained Any Day Will Do over Tommy on Taxmeifyoucan.

It took even longer to become official with the connections of the Greg Hickman-trained runner-up lodging a protest over the result which seemed to be a dead heat.

Stewards ruled in favour of the judge's decision to declare a margin, giving Walter his fifth win in the race since 2003.
