Poor Judge will be out to continue his renaissance under new trainer Anthony Honess when he returns to metropolitan company on Saturday.

Group One placed in the 2010 Toorak Handicap, Poor Judge will line up in the Gumnut Furniture Open Handicap (1500m) at Eagle Farm, in a quality field including Bold Glance and last start winner Lucky Luna.

Three different trainers tried to revive the seven-year-old's fortunes when he lost form after the Toorak.

But apart from bobbing up for a Eagle Farm win in October last year, he failed to fire.

Since joining Honess in August, Poor Judge has been given the chance to regain his confidence and form on the country circuit and has claimed the Moree and Ballina Cups at his past two starts.

Honess, who trains at Coffs Harbour on the NSW mid north coast, has decided the time is ripe to send him back for a shot in town.

Poor Judge is the $2.60 favourite with TAB fixed odds, ahead of Lucky Luna ($3) and Bold Glance ($3.80).

Also out to maintain winning momentum will be the Patinack Farm-owned, John Thompson-trained Transporter.

The five-year-old has struck a rich vein of form and followed a narrow win at Doomben last month with successive Eagle Farm victories.

He will strive to take that streak to four in the Channel Seven Benchmark 90 Handicap (1800m) and is the $2.35 favourite.

"He's been carrying weight in lesser company and been too good for them," said Patinack Farm racing manager Robyn Hartney.

"He's back to Saturday grade but he gets some weight relief.

"He's a nice horse and John is just trying to place him to keep winning."

Stablemate Found The One will resume from a lengthy spell in the Barrier Reef Pools Benchmark 85 Handicap (1000m).

The mare, a full sister to Group One winner Bel Mer, is a two-time city winner in Brisbane but hasn't raced for a year after undergoing surgery for bone chips.

Hartney expects her to improve on whatever she does on Saturday but wouldn't be surprised to see her in the finish.

"She probably will need some racing to get hard fit and there will be improvement in her," she said.

"But she showed good improvement from her first trial to her second and her work has been good since."
