Senior jockey Hugh Bowman will be the new rider for Calming Influence at Randwick on Saturday as Chris Waller attempts to revive her winning form.

The filly was sent out a short-priced favourite last start but after shooting to a tearaway lead she tired to finish a well-beaten third.

Stewards suspended apprentice Serg Lisnyy for a month over the ride and Waller has also taken action, calling on the horsemanship of one of Sydney's most experienced jockeys.

"(I want) to make sure she comes back and settles and there is none better than Hugh Bowman," Waller said.

Calming Influence will face seven rivals in The "HQ of Insurance" Handicap (1150m) with Darley's dual acceptor Miniature an early scratching.

Waller concedes Calming Influence faces a tough task under her top weight but is banking on her ability to overcome it.

"She's taking on the boys, she's giving them all weight," he said.

"The weight-for-age scale would say she's badly suited by that so that's a concern but obviously she is a handy horse."

Another Waller-trained runner seeking redemption is Australian Oaks hopeful Made To Order.

A resounding winner in midweek company, the filly was sent out favourite last start and while she was beaten less than two lengths, she finished ahead of only one rival.

Waller feared she was vulnerable that day but warned punters not to give up on the three-year-old.

"I thought that defeat was on the cards, just through her lack of race experience," Waller said.

"It's easy to get carried away with a maiden win when they win by a couple of lengths and do it impressively as she did.

"I think that's an indication of a good horse but it doesn't necessarily mean they can come out and win a Saturday race straight away because Saturday racing in Sydney, whether they be small fields or look weak, they are not."

"They are strong races and race experience counts for a lot."

Made To Order will tackle the opening race in which Waller will also saddle up Amovatio, who he rates "the benchmark" and Mamwaazel.
