Racing super power Juddmonte not for sale

Thursday 5 December 2013, 11:13am

Juddmonte's chief executive Douglas Erskine Crum has again confirmed the powerful worldwide racing and breeding operation is not for sale.

There has been some media speculation that Khalid Abdullah could be planning to scale down his set-up, which includes farms in England, Ireland and America.

The exceptional Frankel heads the Saudi Arabian prince's list of stallions, but he has other top names such as Dansili and Oasis Dream, and First Defence and Mizzen Mast across the Atlantic.

"Like any other operation, the Juddmonte Group continually reviews its operations, but the media reports about an imminent sale of the group are unfounded," Erskine Crumb said.

"His Highness is looking forward to continuing to race his horses at the highest international level in Europe and the USA, particularly his homebreds.

"There will continue to be two operational centres - the farms near Lexington in the USA and Banstead Manor Stud, with its outstanding stallions, in Europe."
