Haydock Park have confirmed Kauto Star will parade at the track later this month and a statue of the legendary chaser will also be unveiled.
Trainer Paul Nicholls and owner Clive Smith announced on Wednesday the dual Cheltenham Gold Cup hero and five-time King George VI Chase victor had run his final race.
While the 12-year-old now heads into retirement, his adoring public will get the chance to see him in the flesh on Merseyside on November 24 and in a further tribute, Haydock and betting exchange Betfair have commissioned a half-size study of Kauto Star.
"The Betfair Chase was only run for the first time in 2005 but has already established itself as an outstanding Grade One contest and its standing is all down to Kauto Star," John Baker, the North West's regional director for Jockey Club Racecourses," said.
"The Haydock crowds and team will miss him but we will also celebrate a wonderful career and a wonderful association with the Betfair Chase and Haydock Park."
