Tommy Berry is free to chase his third Magic Millions Classic aboard Echo Gal after a successful appeal against the severity of a riding suspension incurred in Hong Kong.
The top Sydney jockey was outed for 10 meetings over one of his rides at Sha Tin's International day on December 8.
It effectively equated to a five-week ban in Australia and would have ruled him out of competing at the rich Magic Millions carnival at the Gold Coast.
Berry successfully appealed the severity of the penalty, which has been reduced to allow him back in the saddle 10 days earlier than the initial January 16 return date.
The leading stable jockey for Gai Waterhouse, Berry won successive Magic Millions Classics aboard the Neville Layt-trained Karuta Queen (2011) and Driefontein for Waterhouse a year later.
Echo Gal is among the leading fancies for the $2 million Magic Millions Classic at the Gold Coast on January 11.
