Leading Perth trainer Adam Durrant is looking to Mr Moet to defend his title in the Group Two CB Cox Stakes at Ascot before the gelding heads east to join the powerful Chris Waller stable.
Mr Moet's owners have decided to send the six-year-old to Waller to chase the rich prize money on offer for nine months of the year on the eastern seaboard.
Durrant said Mr Moet was "not quite at his best" but the 2012 Group One Railway Stakes (1600m) winner had worked well enough to leave connections confident of his chances in Saturday's Cox Stakes (2100m).
"He's in good nick and still working well," Durrant said.
"He's obviously past his best this time in after his runs here and in Melbourne but now we are getting over the longer journeys with the genuine sort of stayers with the stamina, I think he'll come to the fore."
Mr Moet has settled towards the tail of the field in slowly-run races at his past two outings in the Group One Railway Stakes (1600m) and Group One Kingston Town Classic (1800m) but Durrant said the son of Mosayter would race closer over the Cox Stakes journey.
"Without having him too close, he certainly won't be at the tail of the field here," Durrant said.
"He's a bit older now and a little bit dour after his long preparation and he's more grinding away than dashing home.
"But he's in good health, he's working well and he's going well enough to win."
Peter Hall will ride Mr Moet who jumps from barrier three in the $250,000 race.
On Friday, TAB.com.au had Mr Moet as the $6 third favourite in Cox Stakes betting. Luckygray was the $3.20 favourite ahead of the Kingston Town Classic winner Ihtsahymn at $3.40.
