Although he is still a few days away from making his debut, the form around Jetwings could be a pointer to his Magic Millions chances.
The Gerald Ryan-trained colt beat Kumaon by 5-1/4 lengths in a barrier trial earlier this month and will have his first start at Canterbury on Saturday.
Darley colt Kumaon overcame difficulties to run out an impressive winner of the Golden Gift at Rosehill, giving Ryan confidence in his charge.
"He will go to Canterbury and all going to plan he then goes to the Magic Millions two weeks later," Ryan said.
The 1200m Canterbury race will also feature Nordic Empire, TAB's equal second favourite for the summer's richest race, the $2 million Magic Millions Classic on January 11.
Caulfield trainer Mick Price was pleased with Nordic Empire's work in the clockwise direction on Saturday morning ahead of his Sydney trip.
Tommy Berry, already a dual winner of the Magic Millions on Karuta Queen in 2011 and Driefontein the following year, is keen about his chances of a third after travelling to Brisbane to give favourite Echo Gal a gallop.
Berry had three meetings shaved from a Hong Kong suspension on appeal, freeing him up to ride the Gai Waterhouse-trained filly in the big race.
Chris Munce will be aboard when she has her final lead-up in the Bruce McLachlan Stakes on Saturday.
"She worked on the outside of the course proper and ran her last three (furlongs) in 36 seconds," Berry said.
"Her last furlong (200m) was very strong and she has definitely come on since her win at Warwick Farm.
"On her work, she is going better than Karuta Queen and Driefontein heading in to the Magic Millions.
The TAB has Echo Gal and Oakleigh Girl at $4.20 ahead of Nordic Empire and Wyong Magic Millions winner Unencumbered at $6.50.
Nordic Empire's stablemate Geramayo, second to Unencumbered at Wyong, is at $14 and Jetwings is a $21 chance.
