Oaks winner Kirramosa to miss autumn

Monday 23 December 2013, 5:03pm

The autumn campaign of Victorian Oaks winner Kirramosa is over - less than 48 hours after she returned to trainer John Sargent' stable.

Kirramosa returned to work at Randwick last week but her galloping action raised immediate concerns.

Sargent's website reported on Monday that the three-year-old would undergo surgery to remove a bone chip from a front fetlock joint.

Kirramosa won the Wakeful Stakes before coming out on top in a three-way finish to the $1 million Victorian Oaks at Flemington.

While her three-year-old season is over, Sargent is confident Kirramosa will be up and running in time for the 2014 spring carnival.
