Eight internationals line up in Cup

Saturday 3 November 2012, 6:35pm

Eight overseas-trained horses will contest the Melbourne Cup following final acceptances for Tuesday's race.

When the deadline for acceptors passed on Saturday, 40 stayers were still in contention with the Mick Kent-trained Unusual Suspect completing the 24-horse field.

The Chris Waller-trained Kelinni made the field after winning the Lexus Stakes with Glen Boss picking up the ride.

Missing out on a run is the Godolphin stayer Lost In The Moment.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained Glencadam Gold was passed fit to run and he will join stablemate Fiorente in the field.

The international contingent will be headed by Dunaden and Americain.
