Blake Shinn's year has started on a sour note and the jockey will miss the rich Magic Millions carnival after being suspended at Randwick.
Shinn had been booked for the Gai Waterhouse-trained Cyclone in the $2 million Magic Millions Classic on Saturday week.
He was outed for an incident at the 250m mark of the 1400m maiden at Randwick on Monday when he shifted out to take a run between horses.
Despite Shinn's defence there was a run there, stewards saw it otherwise, saying he caused interference to Millars Crossing on his outside by going for a run that wasn't clearly his.
Millars Crossing's rider Brenton Avdulla said the shift and subsequent bump from his inside caught him and his horse by surprise and put the tiring Millars Crossing off balance.
Shinn said he would consider his appeal options over the ban which keeps him out of the saddle from after Saturday until January 23.
