A drop in grade and a home track advantage have given trainer Mario Caltabiano the confidence to run Prettyfamous just 10 days after her slashing fourth in the Carrington Stakes.

The Warwick Farm trainer said he would not normally back her up so quickly but with just a short walk to the track she will take her place in Saturday's 1200m benchmark 85.

Caltabiano is hands-on with seven or eight horses in work at any given time with four-year-old Prettyfamous the undoubted star of the stable.

The mare got to within a length of the winner Dances On Stars in the Listed Carrington (1100m) with the winner and the placegetters, Hidden Warrior and Dee'n'Gee entered for Friday's Takeover Target Stakes at Gosford.

Caltabiano plans to step Prettyfamous up to stakes company again next month but first he wants to give her the chance to add to her winning record.

"I wouldn't normally run her so soon after a race but because it's her home track I thought I'd take the opportunity," Caltabiano said.

"She's not a very big mare and doesn't take a lot of work.

"Her run in the Carrington was great and she worked home well.

"After Saturday, I could freshen her up and get her ready for the Breeders' Classic at Rosehill on the 16th of February.'

The Group Two Breeders' Classic (1200m) is for mares four-years-old and over run under set weights and penalties.

As the highest rated horse of the 15 entries in Saturday's fillies and mares' race, Prettyfamous will get top weight, allowing apprentice Luke Dittman to reunite with the mare and utilise his three kilogram claim.

Nathan Berry rode the mare in the Carrington Stakes.

"It's good to be able to claim with her and because she will get top weight Luke will be able to claim," Caltabiano said.

"Luke is very tall but he has very good balance."

The son of champion jockey Mick Dittman, Luke is apprenticed to Craig Ritchie at Warwick Farm.
