Favourites Unencumbered and Invisible have tightened their grip on the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic with ideal barrier draws.
Unencumbered came up with barrier three while Invisible drew seven in the summer's richest race.
Unencumbered consolidated his position as $3.80 favourite for the 1200m dash over the tricky Gold Coast circuit.
Invisible, trained by the Hawkes family partnership, is a winner at his only start and has firmed from $51 dollars when the TAB market opened to $4.50.
Nordic Empire is on the third line of betting at $11, despite drawing barrier 19.
His trainer Mick Price was unfazed by the draw, especially knowing he has Damien Oliver on board.
The colt is likely to come in to barrier 15 if the emergencies do not get a start, and will have the Gai Waterhouse-trained Echo Gal, a former equal favourite, on his inside.
"There is speed out there and it's not the worst result for us," Price said.
"They will boot forward and I will get a trail off them."
Price's other runner Geromayo fared better with barrier eight, and remained at $12.
The runner-up in the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic remains a maiden after three starts but Price said he was thriving on the trip north.
"He's glossed up in the coat, he's thinned up in the body, his brain is better.
"He's fitter, stronger and turned into a real racehorse.
"The timing of everything we have done with him is perfect. The gate is good for him. There are plenty of things in his favour.
"I think he's going to be a chance to be in the fat end of the prizemoney."
