Peter Moody will reapply blinkers to consistent colt Weinholt in a bid to win his second Magic Millions Guineas at the Gold Coast.
Moody prepared Tereschenko to win the rich event in 2006 when the 1400m race was known as the Magic Millions 3YO Trophy. It carried the same $1 million prize money as it does now.
Weinholt raced well in the first four starts of his spring campaign but beat only two runners home when he stepped up to 1600 metres in last year's Group One Caulfield Guineas.
Moody removed the blinkers for Weinholt's first run for seven weeks when the son of Stratum finished second to Magic Millions 3YO Guineas favourite Sweet Idea at Wyong on December 19.
However, the Gai Waterhouse-trained Sweet Idea drew barrier 15 on Tuesday while Weinholt will be able to race in Moody's desired position from barrier six.
"The blinkers go back on him on Saturday and that certainly won't hurt him," Moody said.
"He had an ease-up and came back. His first run back was good and that would have topped him off nicely.
"He should race handy to the pace and should be in it for a long way."
Leading Sydney rider Hugh Bowman rode Weinholt at Wyong and will continue the partnership at the Gold Coast.
Bowman was aboard Weinholt for an impressive final piece of work on the Randwick course proper last Saturday morning.
"Hugh was very happy with him after the gallop at Randwick and I'm very happy with him," Moody said.
Weinholt will travel from Moody's Sydney satellite stable to the Gold Coast on Wednesday night.
Bookmakers have kept Weinholt safe between $10 and $12 with Sweet Idea the TAB's equal $4.60 favourite with the Jason McLachlan-trained Enquare.
