Stakes placegetter Mr Jackman will chase a consolation win at Warwick Farm on Saturday after failing to earn a spot on trainer Gai Waterhouse's Magic Millions team.
Waterhouse had originally planned to target the $1 million Magic Millions Guineas with Mr Jackman but Tulloch Lodge stable representative Mark Newnham said the horse hadn't come to hand as quickly as hoped.
"He had a short break with the intention of going to the Magic Millions," Newnham said.
"But he hadn't done quite well enough to make the trip.
"He's had a trial and that's brought him on. He's done really well in the yard the last 10 days so Gai's happy to run him now."
Waterhouse will have Sweet Idea and Northern Glory in the Gold Coast feature while Echo Gal and Cyclone represent the stable in the $2 million Magic Millions Classic for juveniles.
Mr Jackman will be among a quartet of runners for Waterhouse at Warwick Farm when he resumes in the Vinery Yearlings Handicap.
A two-time winner, the three-year-old finished fourth to top colt Zoustar at Group Two level in the spring and was narrowly denied his first black type victory when runner-up in the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes in October.
Despite never having raced beyond 1350 metres, Mr Jackman will tackle 1400 metres first-up on Saturday.
Newnham said the horse struggled to win over shorter distances last campaign and Waterhouse was keen for him to be effective from the outset this preparation.
"It took until he got to 1300 metres to win at Warwick Farm," Newnham said.
"Since he's been a gelding his form has been consistent and it's a very soft 1400 at Warwick Farm."
Mr Jackman will carry 59kg after the two kilo claim of apprentice Lester Grace in a race which boasts five last-start winners.
They include the Jason Coyle-trained Kasiano Lad who is undefeated from two starts this preparation and Anthony Cummings's Failed Approach, who is stepping up to city class following successive wins on the country and provincial circuits.
