Brenton Avdulla will make his first foray into international racing when he rides at the Group One Telegraph Handicap meeting at Trentham on Saturday.
The 10-race program in New Zealand also boasts the Group One Levin Classic (1600m) and will mark an exciting opportunity for Avdulla who has never ridden outside Australia.
"I've got three rides there on Saturday at the moment," Avdulla said.
"My manager rang me at the start of the week and said he didn't have a lot in Sydney and the connections of Trepidation, Windsor Park (Stud), wanted me to go over there.
"There are two Group One races so it will be well worth it."
Trepidation is trained by Chris Waller's former Australian foreman Paul Shailer and heads to the Telegraph Handicap (1200m) off a dominant first-up win at Ellerslie last month.
Avdulla has also picked up a handy mount in the Levin Classic (1600m) in the Danica Guy-trained Gobi Ranger.
The colt has raced nine times, eight of those in stakes grade highlighted by his Group One placing in the NZ 2000 Guineas in November.
Avdulla's remaining ride is Boninsky in a 1600-metre Listed race on the support program.
The young jockey will forgo riding at Saturday's Inglis Classic meeting at Randwick to ride in New Zealand.
